My College Stress First-Aid Kit

It's my second year in college and I deal with the pains school brings me almost every day. Why not blog about it and maybe help some others out along the way?

Jumping the gun

Today I received and email for the School of Health and Rehab Sciences at Pitt. I posted before how I applied to the program, and now its just a waiting game.

Well don't get excited it wasn't an acceptance email. It was just a few links to follow SHRS on Facebook and Twitter. I followed both so I could stay updated, but now I can't help but thinking I'm jumping to conclusions because I'm not accepted yet, well hopefully yet.

I hate when I do stuff like that. It usually doesn't seem to end up well for me because I feel like I jump the gun, thinking that I'm going to get accepted in this case, but then my hopes get let down. Does anyone else ever have this problem? I hope this isn't the case this time though.

I guess I just need to pray and hope for the best. The application was due February 15th. I had mine in about a month ago, but hopefully that means I'll hear back soon. Wish me luck.

  1. You're not alone Taylor! I recently applied to a master's program at Duquesne University. I have been emailing back and forth with a few different professors in the program, and I scheduled a face-to-face meeting with one of them. I also scheduled a visit to sit in on a couple classes during the semester. I'm really excited and hopeful about all of these things, but what happens if I don't get in? I'll feel like I wasted so much time. But I think it's best to get as familiar as possible with everything--do your research! In the long run, at least you'll know you put as much effort in as possible. That's my outlook at least. I'll still be super pissed if I don't get in though. I'm sure you will be too.

    Good luck!

  2. Yeah definitely, and let down for the most part. Thanks for the advice though. And good luck!
