I've been recently reading a blog called Surviving College Life and it has a lot of great stuff. One of the posts I particularly liked was a list of things that are nice for roommates to share. If you and your roommates get along of course, and if you don't no big deal just try to take that day by day. I've been there before, last semester to be exact. I thought I would post that list and add a few things of my own.
1) Costco/ Sam's Club membership
Buying in bulk, and splitting the cost is a great idea. It definitely will save you and your roommate(s) money down the road. And if your buying in bulk then there wont be a need to go shopping once a week for things you need.
2) Netflix Subscription
Surprisingly Netflix is not that expensive. I want to say it ends up being 8-10 dollars a month or something. This is really great seeing that 99.99% of college students have laptops, and usually smart phones too. So that way if all the roomies are paying for this, then movie nights are capable all the time.
3) Textbooks
Depending on if you and your roommates have some of the same classes this could definitely work out for the best and save you guys some money.
4) Appliances/ Kitchenware
This is a good one too because if you and the roomies don't have the appliance yet, then you can all pitch in to buy it. Definitely cheaper. Another thing would be kitchenware like plates, silverware, ect. That is just easy and convenient. I recently got a Keurig for Christmas, and I always tell my roommates to use it. Now for you guys, whoever has to buy those expensive Kcups is a different story. I guess thats where Sam's Club can come in.
5) Cleaning supplies
In my opinion, I think all roommates should take turns cleaning anyways, so why not split the cost for supplies? If everyone is going to use it eventually, then its nice to save some money in the long run.
I hope everyone has a great start to their week. Gooooodnight
Sam's Club membership. My roommate has one and it definitely saves me money.
ReplyDeleteIts great for gas too because if you have a membership there the gas it cheaper.
